Open Knowledge Foundation is global not-for-profit, based in the UK, with a mission to create a fair, free and open future.

We are one of the originators of open data as a concept and practice, and remain a leading global actor in the open data field.

Today much of our work focuses on building robust, sustainable open infrastructure for publishing, sharing and working with open data.

We also train governments, major foundations, and other not-for-profits about using open data.

Our team also develops and supports communities of interest/practice in data activism, especially innovative fields that emerge in the intersection between rapidly changing technologies and democratic practice.
